Meet Our Teachers!

Our teachers come from various backgrounds, but they’re united by a common passion: Sharing the joy of music with children and families!

All teachers have successfully completed the live Music Together®® Teacher Training, which is built on research in early childhood and music development. We keep our skills fresh through workshops every semester and advanced trainings offered by Music Together Worldwide.

Director & Instructor

With 20+ years of experience teaching children music in professional, school and church settings, Jana is well-equipped with the tools and know-how to bring joy and enthusiasm to the Music Together classroom. Jana grew up singing around the piano with her family at home (mostly some of her favorites- Broadway show tunes!) while her mom played. She attributes much of the strong bond she still has with her family to those times spent making music together. Jana is thrilled to have the opportunity to share the joy of music making and relationship-building with her community here in the Tri-Cities.

Jana has a B.S. from Brigham Young University in Marriage, Family and Human Development, with an emphasis in child and adolescent development and behavior. Her passion for music and strengthening families, in addition to her background in child development, led her to Music Together. Jana completed the intensive Music Together Teacher Training Workshop in Seattle in the spring of 2016, and loved immersing herself in the music and philosophy of this special program. She started Music Together Tri-Cities that summer with her first two small classes.

Jana is blessed to have an amazingly supportive husband, Jason, who is also a small business owner and optometrist here in the Tri. (You can check out Tri-City Eyes here.) Together, Jana and Jason have four hilarious and creative children that keep them very, very busy! In addition to sharing her passion for music, Jana enjoys going to the theater, reading, watching Survivor, anything that makes her laugh, and singing in the kitchen, shower, car, backyard...well, anywhere!

Emily, a lifetime Tri-City resident, has always had a deep passion for music, dance, education, and community. She grew up playing the violin, singing in choirs, dancing on dance team, and performing in shows at The Academy of Children’s Theatre in Richland. She graduated from Eastern Washington University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary English Education and a minor in Theatre. Emily taught high school English in Kennewick for seven years before leaving to be a stay at home mom.

Emily is a strong advocate for play-based education, and came to her first Music Together Tri-Cities class in 2019. She has loved attending Music Together with her two children and is passionate about the program. Emily finished her semester-long apprenticeship and the Music Together Teacher Training in the winter of 2024.

Instructor

Christina moved to the Tri-Cities in the winter of 2023 with her husband and young son. She immediately signed up for a Music Together Babies Music Class hoping to have some fun and make some friends. What she found was that, and much more. She and her son have been attending ever since!

Originally from Nebraska, and most recently Colorado, Christina taught elementary school for several years before moving to the Tri-Cities with her family.

Christina plays the piano, enjoys park play dates with her son and friends, and is an avid plant person. She has quite a large collection!

Christina completed the Music Together training in the spring of 2025, and is excited to make Music Together with you!
